Living in Wheeling means you’re right in the center of everything, from specialty shops to cultural events to great parks! Living at ONE is no exception. Located in the heart of Wheeling’s newest downtown, ONE is also bordered by Heritage Park, just one of many incredible spaces that make up the Wheeling Park District, where engaging programming helps get everyone out into the city’s greens.

The Health Benefits of Living Near Nature

There are plenty of benefits to living near nature; it can boost both your physical and mental health, and even make you live longer. Not to imply that everyone in Wheeling is immortal… but we might just be closer to it than the town next door.

An article in the Washington Post states that the health benefits of living near nature, “are likely thanks to factors such as improved mental health, social engagement and physical activity that comes with living near green spaces.”

How to Get Yourself Into the Green

Wheeling Park District includes all of the local parks, as well as a Community Recreation Center, a Family Aquatic Center, Indoor Pool, Fitness Center and the Chevy Chase Country Club. All these resources help you get outside, whether it be for your daily workout walking, running or biking the endless trails. Or maybe grab a blanket and lounge in the grass with a good book.

If you want to enjoy nature with some company, Wheeling Park District hosts camps, family learning programs, special events and more. This summer, programming includes the Craft Beer and Wine Festival, Fourth of July BBQ, free movies and concerts and galore.

Residents at ONE will have even more ways to enjoy nature right outside their apartment door, including a luxurious Courtyard Pool and an Outdoor Kitchen. Visit to learn more about our leasing our luxe apartments!
